After hearing the devastating news that fashion designer Alexander McQueen committed suicide, tributes from stars across the world have been flooding Twitter.

British Vogue editor Alexandra Shulman said:

“His brilliant imagination knew no bounds as he conjured up collection after collection of extraordinary designs.

“At one level, he was a master of the fantastic, creating astounding fashion shows that mixed design, technology and performance and on another he was a modern-day genius.”

Designer, Katherine Hamnett said:

“He was a genius. What a terrible, tragic waste.”

Stars have also been using Twitter to voice their sadness.

“I just found out Alexander McQueen died!!! I'm in shock! So sad! I'm wearing one of his dresses now! He was such a talented designer.”
