A movie isn't successful unless there is a lawsuit surrounding it, so it was only a matter of time before Twilight got in on the act.
The Twilight trademark is instantly recognisable so it would be plain stupid to try and rip it off, right? Well it seems like Topics Entertainment are just that stupid.
Summit Entertainment are releasing a DVD called Twilight in Forks: The Saga of the Real Town which features an image of a moonlit forest and Bella's truck and the 'Welcome' sign in Forks, on the packaging.
According to TMZ.com, Summit claims the defendant, Topics Entertainment, sent copies of a flyer to Best Buy, Sam's Club and Target, advertising its own documentary which is called, Forks: Bitten by Twilight. A better title we think...
Anyway, Summit claims the cover art is very similar to the trademarked art and is deceiving. They want an injunction and damages from Topics Entertainment.
Ouch. Don't mess with Summit Entertainment people.
