Robert Pattinson is not the only one branching out from the Twilight franchise. 17-year-old Taylor Lautner has also landed himself another lead role.

The actor who plays Jacob Black in the Twilight Saga will appear in Universal Pictures film about the Hasbro action figure which is due to be released in 2012.

Donna Langley from Universal told E! Online, “In the past two years, Taylor has emerged as a real star at the global box office. He brings the perfect balance of energy and athleticism to the role of an unlikely super hero with a fantastic super power. We couldn’t be more pleased that he has agreed to be our Stretch Armstrong.”

The young star beefed up for his second appearance in the Saga and the New Moon installment was given a great reception by the fans.

Stretch Armstrong will be shown entirely in 3-D so Taylor's fans will be able to cop a 3-dimensional view of his taut stomach and rock hard abs! Woop!
