Tragic actress Brittany Murphy could have been saved if she had been treated in time, rules coroner.

The 30-year old actress was found dead on 20 December, in her apartment in the Hollywood Hills after suffering from a heart attack.

The main cause of death was pneumonia but iron deficiency anaemia and 'multiple drug intoxication' were cited as contributing factors by the Los Angeles County coroner's office.

The actress on the red carpet on 2 December. 18 days before she died.

Her death has been ruled as accidental but it is believed she could have been saved if taken to hospital in time.

Murphy's mother and husband Simon Monjack, have insisted the actress didn't abuse prescription medications or have an eating disorder yet the last potographs of the actress on the red carpet show a different story.
