Hollywood actor and heart thob George Clooney has bought hundreds of Italy's lottery tickets in the hope of winning £117 million.

However, the actor who is worth quite a bit is not doing it for greed, in fact he wants to win the money to give to the people who have been affected by the devastating earthquake in Haiti.

The Daily Star reported Clooney saying, “the jackpot is so high so why not try?”

George's girlfriend, Elisabetta Canalis also bought tickets in the hope of winning.

Since the earthquake, stars across Hollywood have been donating large amounts of money to the relief fund with George himself, hosting the Haiti telethon in America in January.
