The Bridget Jones actress was returning to her parked Toyota Prius (very environmnentally friendly Renee, we salute you) when it was struck by a passing vehicle.

As the actress opened the drivers door to climb into the front seat, the door was hit by another car. Luckily Renee was not injured in the incident which happneed at 9am yesterday morning in the Pacific Palisades district of LA.

According to TMZ, Renee's actor boyfriend Bradley Cooper came to her rescue just moments later.

Rumours are rife that Cooper is planning to propose to the actress after just six months of them dating and after he came to her rescue yesterday we are sure Renee won't be able to say no to her knight in shining armour.
