Robert Pattinson says he was attracted to his role in new film Remember Me because the character was “different”.
The 23-year-old Twilight star plays Tyler – a teenager whose new relationship with a college girl is threatened by family tragedy – in the movie.
In an interview on the Remember Me Facebook page, Rob explained that as well as his interesting character, he was also won over by the script.
"Initially, I remember reading the script and thinking that I like the flow of the dialogue," he said.
"It was just different and in a lot of ways, other lead male characters in other films seem like just a vessel, naive and ridiculously innocent, so audiences could feel along with him.
The actor added that his character "is a very specific character".
Remember Me is Rob's first major film outside of The Twilight Saga and sees him team up with Emilie De Ravin and Pierce Brosnan.
The movie is due to be released in the UK in April.
