Simon Cowell has hired a security team to provide round-the-clock protection for Susan Boyle, it's been reported.

The move follows a break in at the star's Scottish home on Tuesday night and accusations from her brother that her management company had failed to mind her.

According to the Sun newspaper, security guards from  Clockwork Security will work with the Britain's Got Talent star indefinitely.

"Susan's safety is the top priority,” a source said. "Her living arrangements are far from ideal, the house is a sitting duck.

“Ideally she would move to a more secure location but the lady's not for changing.”

The source added: "Simon Cowell wants her to have permanent protection and is more than happy to pick up the tab."

Susan insisted on Wednesday that she was “fine” after being confronted by the intruder insider her home in Blackburn.

But her brother, John, later voiced his concern for his sister's safety and said he fears she may be killed like John Lennon.
