Susan Boyle's musical hero Elaine Page has described the Britain's Got Talent star as a “virus”.
Page, who performed with the 48-year-old on a TV special before Christmas, said Susan had only found fame thanks to YouTube.
Speaking at the South Bank awards, Page told the Daily Mail the singer was a “virus who had spread across the world in a nanosecond”.
“She is a girl with no experience of anything to do with theatrics, the music business, or art in any way,” she said.
“She has done terribly well to be a major star overnight with YouTube.”
When asked if she was happy with the success that Susan had achieved, Page said she didn't “particularly feel any pride for her”.
The singer's comments come at a difficult time for Susan, who was confronted by a burglar inside her Scottish home on Sunday.
The I Dreamed A Dream star has insisted she is “fine” after the incident, but her brother has voiced concern for her safety.
