Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were enjoying a romantic dinner together when reports that they had broken up surfaced in the British media, it's been reported.
The claims, which originated in the New of the World on Sunday, suggested the couple – who are not married – had consulted a divorce lawyer.
However, the reports were rubbished by multiple sources, with one describing them as “totally false”.
US magazine People now claims to have spoken to another insider who revealed that Angelina and Brad were at a restaurant when the story broke.
"Angie and Brad were actually out to dinner together in Los Angeles when the rumour broke," the source said.
"That's how ridiculous [the story] is."
Meanwhile, it's thought the pair will miss the Academy Awards in March due to filming commitments.
Brad and Angelina met in 2004 on the set of the movie Mr and Mrs Smith. They have six children together.
