Susan Boyle has said she feels “honoured” to sing on Simon Cowell's charity single for victims of the recent earthquake in Haiti.

The Britain's Got Talent star recorded her vocals on the track – a cover of Everybody Hurts by REM – in London yesterday.

And for Susan the opportunity is a dream come true to record alongside big name stars such as Cheryl Cole, Bon Jovi and fellow Scott Rod Stewart.

“It is just awful what is happening in Haiti. I’ve seen some of it on the TV and it’s so sad,” she told the Daily Mirror.

“To be asked to do this with all these talented singers is just great, it’s such an honour. It would be lovely to meet Rod Stewart, being a fellow Scot.”

However, it proved to be a bittersweet day for Susan who was confronted by an intruder when she returned to her home in Scotland last night.

The 48-year-old singer had just arrived at the property in Blackburn from London with a friend when she found the man on the stairs.

Police have detained a man and enquires are ongoing.
