As the veteran star of three Mission Impossible movies, Tom Cruise's desire to accept demanding and physical stunts has never been doubted.

And that doesn't look as though it's about to change on the set of his new movie, Knight and Day.

The Hollywood star spent the day running and jumping from moving vehicles as he filmed some energetic scenes in California yesterday.

Wearing a wam puffa jacket, Tom was spotted limbering up on the seafront before being put through his paces by director James Mangold.

The 47-year-old, who has always preferred to do his own stunts, was later joined on the seafront in Long Beach by co-star Cameron Diaz.

Cameron Diaz later joined Tom and the pair shot some scenes together.

And the actress proved that she too was no lightweight when it came to getting involved in the action.

She could be seen Dashing after after Tom wearing a slim-fitting white shirt and jeans.

Scheduled for release this summer, Knight and Day sees the pair play a fugitive couple whose battles take them across the globe.
