Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's relationship has been “loveless” for the past 12 months, according to reports.
The pair, who are reported to be on the verge of splitting, have apparently only been trying to stay together for the sake of their six children.
Brad's brother, Doug, is understood to have visited him at Christmas and told him to leave Angelina because their relationship was making him unhappy.
"It's no secret they have been in a pretty loveless relationship for about a year,” a source told The Sun newspaper.
"They barely spend time together and when they do it is very fraught. They want different things from life.
The source added: "Brad's family are being more vocal with their doubts over the relationship.
“The only thing they still have in common is their kids. That's keeping them together at the moment."
Reports at the weekend claimed the pair – who are not married – had visited a divorce lawyer in order to discuss an amicable separation.
However, a source told People magazine that the split claims were “totally false”, while another said “everything is fine” with the couple.
