Jennifer Lopez has been singled out by Glee creator Ryan Murphy for potential cameo in the show, it's been reported.

New TV sensation Glee has been praised for its humorous script and talented cast - so it's no surprise they now want a celebrity cameo to further boost ratings.

Attempting to follow in the footsteps of Friends and Will & Grace, which featured Brad Pitt and Madonna,  Ryan Murphy confirmed their intentions to target J-Lo.

"I have a meeting with Jennifer Lopez in a couple of weeks - she wants to come on, we want her to be a cafeteria lady,” he told People.

The Jenny from the block singer is notorious for trying to 'keep it real', playing a chambermaid in her 2002 film role in Maid in Manhattan opposite Ralph Fiennes and the late Natasha Richardson.

Jennifer had some time off after giving birth to twins last year and is currently making a musical comeback, recently performing at the American Music Awards.

Ryan revealed details of further plans that the young Glee cast, Jane Lynch, Jayma Mays, and Matthew Morrison, are putting together a special Madonna tribute episode.
