If you are a nervous flier the last thing you need before a long haul flight is to get caught up in a gun seige.

But accoring to the The Mirror, that is exactly what happened to singer Leona Lewis on a recent trip to LAX airport in Los Angeles. The singer was about to leave her car to get a coffee when two men pulled up and ran past wielding guns.

Mere moments later three police cars turned up and pushed several people to the floor, including Leona's manager.

Shaken Leona told a friend: “It was really frightening, one minute we were stopping for drinks, the next there was police and guns everywhere.
 
“I really thought the guys might start shooting. I was shaking like a leaf afterwards.”

After speaking to the police Leona continued to the airport. The experience is sure to have woken the singer up more thoroughly than any hit of caffeine.
