Oh dear, losing a bet is never a good thing and poor Keifer Sutherland as fallen victim to one he made with a friend.
The film and 24 star, who is normally used to wearing trousers, appeared on the The Late Show with David Letterman, in what NY Daily News described as a “hideous peacock inspired dress".
However he did show knowledge of how to accessorise as he wore combat boots and a long sleeve white t-shirt with the dress.
Keifer Sutherland wore a dress on Letterman after losing a bet with a friend.
The result of the Patriots losing 33-14 to the Baltimore Ravens meant that Sutherland had to explain his chosen attire, telling Letterman: “I lost a bet over the weekend.
"I was so sure New England was going to win that I told a guy who used to be my friend that if New England lost, I would wear a dress on Letterman.”
The dress unfortunately made it difficult for serious conversation to take place with Letterman offering the actor $1,000 to wear the dress on the subway.
To that, Sutherland replied: "Riding the subway would be easier what I’m going through right now.”
