The former footballer, who has since launched an acting career, proved popular when he entered the house on Sunday.

Cage fighter Alex Reid, boyfriend of Katie Price, and the former glamour model's ex Dane Bowers are also on the show.

The ex-Another Level singer is 7/1 with bookmakers Ladbrookes.

Rolling Stone guitarist Ronnie Wood's ex-girlfriend Ekaterina Ivanova, DJ Basshunter and rapper Lady Sovereign completed the line up.

As in previous years, the housemates will take part in a series of tasks during their three-week stay.
