David Beckham has praised close friend Tom Cruise, describing the actor as “one of the most handsome people I've ever met”.

The LA Galaxy footballer paid tribute to Cruise and his wife Katie Holmes during an appearance on Lopez Tonight.

“Tom and Katie are mazing parents and really good people,” Beckham said.

“You say there's good looking people and you look at Tom and he's one of the most handsome people I've ever met.”

Beckham, who was dressed in a smart three-piece suit, also revealed during the interview that he often cuts his own hair.

“I just kind of get bored - I wake up in the morning and I don't like my hair so sometimes I cut it myself,” he said.

The footballer went on to cut host George Lopez's hair, giving the presenter a “bro-hawk”.
