Russell Brand has sparked rumours he is set to propose to girlfriend Katy Perry after being spotted shopping for a diamond ring.
The comedian, who began dating the I Kissed A Girl singer three months ago, looked in a focussed state of mind as he browsed the selection at Cartier in West London.
Wearing a black overcoat and dark sunglasses, Brand tried on various designs, before apparently settling on a square-cut diamond ring.
It was a brief outing for Brand during what was a whistle-stop visit to the UK from Los Angeles, the Daily Mail reports.
On Sunday, the comedian jetted back to LA where he was expected to reunite with Perry.
But his return to America was not without incident – Brand was held at customs yesterday while officials studied his troubled history.
In a message on Twitter, he said: “In LA Held by customs for an hour - because of "previous convictions" then stepped into a drizzlin grey-scape.
“It's like being 16 again.”
Brand and Perry have been almost inseparable since they hooked up after the MTV Video Music Awards in September.
