Sir Paul McCartney has admitted that his marriage to Heather Mills was one of his biggest mistakes of the last ten years.
The former Beatle made the revelation when he was asked to reflect on the last decade in an interview with Q magazine.
“OK, yeah. I suppose that has to be the prime contender,” Sir Paul said, referring to his former wife.
The singer married Ms Mills in 2002. The couple had one daughter together, six-year-old Beatrice, before divorcing last year.
“I don’t want to down anyone. These things happen,” he said.
“I tend to look at the positive side, which is that I have another beautiful daughter out of it.”
Despite his divorce, Sir Paul said he felt “quite fulfilled” with the decade.
“Just being with my children. And having a new girlfriend. That is very nice, thank you,” he added.
