Being a global superstar isn't all glitz and glamour – as Miley Cyrus proved when she stopped off at a tanning salon in Blackpool at the weekend.

The Hannah Montana star, along with her mother Tish, paid an unlikely visit to Sunseekers in the seaside town after rehearsing for her upcoming appearance at the 2009 Royal Variety performance.

On Saturday Miley appeared at the Jingle Bell Ball at London's O2 Arena.

Other performers at the Capital FM bash included Janet Jackson and Lady Gaga, who also turned heads when she made an unscheduled stop at a local pub after her X Factor appearance.

Fellow patrons were treated to the bizarre sight of the flamboyant singer sipping a drink at the bar of the Castle Pub, while dressed in a revealing white leotard and ripped fishnets.
