Sarah Jessica Parker has revealed she has “enormous regrets” about the demands of appearing in the movie sequel to Sex and the City.

The actress said her filming schedule had prevented her from spending time with her new twins, Tabitha and Marion, who were born through a surrogate.

“It's been amazing but complicated because of my current work schedule, which I have enormous regrets about,” she said.

Parker, who has been filming Sex and the City 2 in New York and Morocco, admitted she struggled to balance her work and home life.

She said: “The great challenge for me is to be all things to all people; I want to be a great mother, and I want to feel good when I'm at work. But it is hard.”

Speaking to US Glamour magazine, the 44-year-old actress also revealed that she and husband Matthew Broderick were not pushover parents.

She said the couple, who also have a son, James, did not want their children to feel like they have “a sense of entitlement”.

Parker added: "I want them to work hard and be challenged.

"That's hard to do when you have everything you need and want, so I am working on those values all the time."

Sex and the City 2 is due to be released in cinemas next summer. The new issue of Glamour magazine is out now.
