Victoria Beckham's love of towering heels has taken its toll on her poor feet, it's claimed.

Despite reportedly being in constant pain, the would-be style icon is doing everything she can to avoid having surgery on her agonising bunions – except wear flats.

“The Beckham household is all about feet at the moment: David is having painkilling injections for bone bruising on his foot, while Victoria is in agony with her misshapen feet,” says a source.

“She is suffering from shooting pain from the bunions. Normally, she kicks off her shoes in the house, but she has been out so much recently in high heels that she is really feeling it.”

The former Spice Girl - who is rarely seen in public out of a pair of designer heels - is said to be packing her feet in ice, doing special exercises and wearing corrective insoles in a bid ease her discomfort.

A source adds to Britain's Daily Mail: “Victoria calls her feet 'the bane of my life'', but she is worried about having the operation because she fears they will compromise her ability to wear heels and ruin her stylish look.

“She puts up with the pain, but the doctor has told her she seriously needs to consider a bunionectomy or ditch the heels for a few months to let the inflammation calm down. She has not got that long to decide what to do.”

Whilst it's not known exactly why bunions - a bony swelling at the base of the big toe – occur, wearing badly-fitting shoes are thought to be a prime cause.

If left untreated, they can cause other problems, including arthritis of the big toe joint.
