Twilight star Taylor Lautner has admitted he was bullied at school.

The 17-year-old actor, who plays werewolf Jacob Black in the hit teen franchise, said he was taunted because of his career choice.

"I was never extremely confident," Lautner told Rolling Stone magazine.

"Because I was an actor, when I was in school there was a little bullying going on.

“Not physical bullying but people making fun of what I do ... I just had to tell myself I can't let this get to me.

He added: “This is what love to do. And I'm going to continue to do it."

Lautner, who is currently appearing in New Moon - the second installment of The Twilight Saga - also spoke in the interview about his friendship with singer Taylor Swift.

The actor appears on the front cover of the latest issue of the music magazine, which goes on sale next month.
