After diving into a critter-ridden swamp on her first day in the jungle, and then being deluged with cockroaches on her second, her third trial in as many days involved a series of mini tasks to earn meals for the camp.

The former glamour model submerged her head in a tank of slime and mealworm larvae, was covered in more cockroaches and swam with baby crocodiles to come away with 9 out of 12 available stars.

Katie has topped all three public votes since entering the jungle and is odds on favourite to face the next trial aswell, amid an online campaign by Peter Andre fans to get her to do every single trial.

"People want to see me suffer,” Katie conceded in the jungle. ”I predicted it because I've got so many haters out there."

If that wasn't bad enough, her fellow 'celebrity' campers are also turning on her.

How Clean Is Your House star Kim Woodburn has branded her a "publicity seeker."

"You live and die for publicity,"  the 67-year-old told Katie.
