Rihanna was spotted with what appeared to be a bump on her left eye in London this morning.

The singer tried to keep a low profile behind a pair of sunglasses as photographers snapped her outside her hotel.

And the star, who was without make-up, kept her head down as she entered the building.

Rihanna arrived in the capital from France on Friday to promote her new album, Rated R.

During an interview over the weekend, the singer revealed that the record had largely been written in London.

“We took two big trips there and spent some time just figuring out the record,” she said.

“London is one of my favourite cities, it’s where I get most of my creative energy.”

Rihanna is due perform a special one-off gig at an undisclosed location later today, which will be screened worldwide via the internet.

Rated R is the star's first new album since she was attacked by ex-boyfriend Chris Brown in February.
