Twilight has dominated the nominations for this year's People's Choice Awards with six nods.

The vampire film is shortlisted for favourite movie and franchise, while stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are up for favourite actor and actress.

Co-star Taylor Lautner is nominated for breakout movie actor and the trio are also in the running for favourite on-screen team.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, The Hangover, Star Trek and The Proposal are also nominated for favourite movie.

Pattinson will face competition from Brad Pitt, Hugh Jackman, Johnny Depp and Ryan Reynolds for favourite actor.

Anna Hathaway, Drew Barrymore, Jennifer Aniston and Sandra Bullock are also shortlisted for favourite actress.

The nominations for this year's People's Choice awards, which recognise stars of cinema, TV and music, were chosen online by fans.

The public will also decide the winners, which will be unveiled during a ceremony at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on January 6.
