Mel Gibson Confirms Birth Of Eighth Child And Reveals New Baby's Name

Mel Gibson and fiancée Oksana Grigorieva have confirmed the arrival of their first child.

The couple welcomed the birth of a girl called Lucia on Friday, the actor's publicist said.

Gibson already has seven children with former wife Robyn, who filed for divorce earlier this year.

In May, the 53-year-old revealed he had split with his estranged wife three years ago following his drunk-driving arrest in Malibu.

The actor met Grigorieva, 39, during filming for Edge of Darkness last year.
