Louis Walsh: 'John And Edward Can Win The X Factor'

Louis Walsh says John and Edward can win The X Factor, despite claims that they can't sing.

Walsh, who is the 18-year-old twin's mentor, tipped them to go all the way because of their entertainment value.

He told Heat magazine: “Who cares whether they're good singers or not? Madonna and Kylie aren’t the best singers either but like the twins, they are great entertainers

“Every kid in every family is rooting for them. The kids like them and their parents don’t and they can rebel against them by voting for them.”

Walsh said he was “genuinely glad” he had picked the twins – dubbed Jedward – and revealed they were set to sing the Ghostbusters theme this Saturday.

He also hit back at fellow judge Simon Cowell, who said he was “praying” that the pair would be voted off the talent contest.

"Simon has said he will leave the country if John and Edward win. Well, not everyone likes Simon so maybe that’s why they’re voting for them,” he said.

“I’ll be happy to buy Simon a one-way plane ticket out of here.”
