Mel Gibson has become a father for the eighth time after fiancée Oksana Grigorieva gave birth to a baby girl, it's been reported.

The 39-year-old Russian is understood to have given birth on Friday.

According to Radar Online, mother and child are both doing well and are already at home with Gibson.

The Hollywood actor began dating Grigorieva earlier this year after his wife, Robyn, filed for divorce.

In an interview earlier this year, Gibson, 53, revealed he had split with his estranged wife three years ago following his drunk-driving arrest in Malibu.

The former couple had seven children together, with their last child, Thomas, being born in 1999.
