Robert Pattinson has admitted he tries to be “a little sneaky” when trying to avoid the paparazzi.

The 23-year-old British actor has been thrust into the media spotlight over the last 12 months as a result of his role in The Twilight Saga.

In an interview with the Australian Daily Telegraph, Pattinson said he found the pressure of being chased by photographers hard.

“Sometimes when you’ve done a 16-hour day, you just want to go and have dinner, but they’re waiting for you to make an idiot of yourself. It takes its toll eventually,” he said.

But Pattinson, who plays Edward Cullen in the vampire franchise, said he often tries to negotiate his way around the paparazzi.

"You have to be a little sneaky about everything. That said, none of my strategies works particularly well,” he said.

“I’ve (tried) making my life look as boring as possible because I thought it would cause them to lose interest, but it didn’t.”

The actor is currently promoting the second film in The Twilight Saga, New Moon, which is released on November 20.
