When the going gets tough, Lindsay Lohan goes clubbing!

The scrawny star enjoyed a night out in New York with friends on Wednesday amid reports her life is spiralling out of control due to an alleged addiction to prescription medication.

Her outspoken father Michael has described his daughter's situation as “serious” and claims he is trying to persuade other members of the Lohan family – namely his ex-wife and Lindsay's mother Dina – to help him stage an intervention.

Whilst Lindsay has so far refused to address the drug allegations, she has taken to Twitter to express her anguish at being kept apart from on/off girlfriend Samantha Ronson in a modern day Romeo and Juliet-type scenario.
