The Spice Girls are planning to bring the story of their career to the stage, according to reports.

The five-piece are understood to be in talks to find five unknown actresses play their famous alter egos: Posh, Scary, Ginger, Baby and Sporty.

The stage show, touted as a two hour “pop extravaganza”, has apparently been masterminded by Geri Halliwell.

A source told the Daily Mirror: “The project is Geri’s baby really but all the girls are backing it.

“The idea is for five relatively unknown actresses to take the parts and hopefully the girls will each have a say in who is cast.”

The reports follow claims the group were plotting to reform again after Melanie Chisholm, Melanie Brown, Emma Bunton and Halliwell were spotting enjoying dinner together recently.

The Spice Girls shocked fans in 2007 when they got back together for a series of reunion shows around the world.
