Boyzone Singer Stephen Gately's Funeral 'To Take Place On Saturday'

Boyzone's Stephen Gately's funeral is expected to take place on Saturday in the late singer's hometown of Dublin.

Gerald Kean, a lawyer for Gately's family, told the BBC preparations were under way to return the star's body from Majorca.

It is thought the funeral will be preceded by a private wake held at the family home on Friday.

Gately was found dead in his holiday apartment last Saturday. A post-mortem found the star suffered a pulmonary oedema.

As Entertainmentwise reported earlier, Louis Walsh, manager of Boyzone, has today described the singer as his “best friend”.

In an interview with the Daily Mirror, the X Factor judge said he had been left “completely broken” by Gately's sudden death.
