Stephen Gately died after a heavy drinking session ended in tragedy in a holiday apartment in Majorca, according to reports.
A post-mortem is due to be carried out this week on the Boyzone star, who was found dead on Saturday morning.
The 33-year-old's family have attributed the his death to natural causes and ruled out suicide or drugs.
However, tabloid reports today have claimed Gately died after a drink-fuelled night with his civil partner Andy Cowles.
According to Sun newspaper, the pair began their night out at a gay club in nearby capital city Palma at 9.30pm.

It was at the club where they apparently met a Bulgarian man who returned with them to their apartment in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Cowles later found Gately unconscious in a squatting position on a sofa. It has been claimed he choked to death on his own vomit.
Meanwhile, the remaining members of Boyzone travelled to Majorca yesterday afternoon to see where Gately died.
The band's manager Louis Walsh also withdrew from last night's X Factor following the singer's death.
