Peter Andre has hit back at Dwight Yorke after the footballer called him “a muppet”.

Yorke, who is the father of Andre's ex-wife Katie Price's first child, Harvey, 8, made the comment in his new autobiography.

He also said in the book that he wanted to “throttle” the singer for talking about adopting his son with Price.

However, in an interview with the Daily Mirror, Andre said: “Harvey is my son and I love him. Nothing Dwight or anybody says will change how much I feel for my little boy.

“When I found out about the stuff Dwight was saying I thought all that matters is I will always be Harvey's dad.”

The singer said he had “no idea” about Yorke's feeling towards him, adding: “Although I'm not Harvey's biological dad and Dwight is, it doesn't make a difference."

Meanwhile, Yorke yesterday said he wanted to play a bigger role in Harvey's life, but claimed he had not been "given the opportunity".
