Viewers of The Late Show with David Letterman last night were treated to the sight of a bizarre-looking Madonna.
The singer and fitness fanatic was a guest on the show to push her new greatest hits collection, but she also did a good job of promoting the concept of growing old gracefully.

As she chatted to the host, the singer's jowls appeared strangely lumpy and misshapen, possibly the result of injectable fillers, designed to plump up the skin and give it a more youthful appearance.
Despite refusing to be drawn on the subject of plastic surgery, Madonna's face has undergone a number of reinventions of over the years, suggesting fillers and possibly more invasive surgery in a bid to keep the ageing process at bay.

Madonna's Letterman interview threatened to get off to a bad start when the host greeted her with the question: "Listen Madonna, Madge, how are you?"
Madonna replied: "You know that's one of the reasons I left England, so I don't have to hear the word Madge again."
She also shot down rumours she plans to wed her supposed toyboy lover, Jesus: "Remarry? I think I'd rather get run over by a train!"
