Roman Polanski is in “good spirits” despite his arrest in Switzerland on a US warrant issued in 1978.
In an interview on BBC Radio 4's Today programme, the film director's agent said he was “very anxious” to get the issue resolved.
Authorities want the acclaimed film director to return to the US to face sentencing for having sex with a 13-year-old girl.
Polanksi pleaded guilty to assault in 1977 but fled the US the following year to France, where he holds citizenship.
He was arrested on Saturday as he prepared to pick up a lifetime achievement award at the Zurich film festival.
Speaking this morning, Mr Berg told the BBC that he was surprised by the director's arrest because he had lived in Switzerland for the last “12, 15 years”.
A number of French politicians and Hollywood stars have also spoken in support of Polanski – and called for his release.
