Keisha Buchanan has said she did not choose to leave the Sugababes.
Writing on her Twitter page, the singer said a "lack of trust" and “breakdown in communication” was behind the girl group's demise.
But she denied tabloid reports that she had fallen out with bandmate Amelle Berrabah.
"Although it was not my choice to leave, it's time to enter a new chapter in my life, I've had a great time and have achieved more then I ever thought I would,” she wrote.
“I would like to state that there were no arguments, bullying or anything of the sort that lead to this.
"I have nothing but positive things to say about the girls and I wish them the best of luck."
Yesterday it was announced that the singer, who was the group's last remaining original member, had quit in order to focus on her solo career.
A statement on Sugababes' website added that former Eurovision entrant Jade Ewen would join remaining members Berrabah and Heidi Range.
