Gossip Girl's Leighton Meester Unsure About Style Icon Status

Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester has said she's not comfortable with her status as a style icon.

Meester has become a fashion inspiration for fans as a result of her role as socialite Blair Waldorf in the hit US teen series.

However, in an interview with OK!, the 23-year-old actress appeared unsure when asked if she regarded herself as an icon.

“That’s a very nice thing to say. But I don’t… I don’t know,” she said.

Meester, who was among the celebrities at New York Fashion Week earlier this month, said she looked for something “fun” when picking the right outfit.

“You just wear what you like,” she added.

As Entertainmentwise reported earlier, Meester joined her Gossip Girl co-star Blake Lively at the Emmy awards in Los Angeles yesterday.
