Robert Pattinson has been installed in his own 'safe house' while he films the third Twilight instalment, according to his co-star.

Following on from reports that security has been stepped up around the star due to rabid fans and paparazzi, Justin Chon (who plays Bella's friend Eric Yorkie) says the heartthrob is no longer able to stay in a hotel like the rest of the cast.

"Security has been increased a lot," says Chon.

"They're a lot more protective...If Rob was to go out in public without anybody, I think it could be pretty dangerous."
