Gossip Girl may not have swept the Emmy's last night but Blake Lively's plunging red Versace gown drew plenty of admirers.

One vocal admirer was Ryan Seacrest, who interviewed the stunning star on the red carpet.

As Blake approached, he Tweeted: “Blake lively coming next in amazing dress versace omg”

Admiring the view during their chat, the American Idol host quipped: "Have I mentioned how much I love doing these shows?"

As she showed off some leg in the slashed dress, he joked: "I'm hoping the wind keeps blowing. The secret to this not swinging all the way open is there is one thread that's like its anchor, it's like a boat anchoring down to the bottom of the ocean."

A fashion expert then chipped in to ask: "Do you want to show me the thread, Ryan?

He replied: "I'm a gentleman. I mean, come on."

At the opposite end of the hottness scale was Phoebe Price, who looked in desperate need of an 'anchor thread' as her wayward gown became tangled up, exposing her underwear.
