Britain's Got Talent star Susan Boyle and Robbie Williams are set to go head to head for the coveted Christmas number one album spot.
The former Take That singer is due to release his comeback album 'Reality Killed the Radio Star' two weeks ahead of Boyle's debut LP in early November.
But record industry insiders are already predicting victory for Boyle, who shot to fame on Britain's Got Talent earlier this year.
“No contest, it is Susan Boyle,” radio presenter Paul Gambaccini told the Observer.
“That is not an insult to Robbie Williams, it’s just that, bizarre as it sounds, Boyle is the new artist and story of the year around the world.
“The interest factor alone will bring her many, many sales.”
Boyle, 48, from Scotland, was an unknown before her performance on Britain's Got Talent became a worldwide hit on YouTube.
Earlier this month she wowed fans in the US – where Williams is currently promoting his comeback – with a performance on America's Got Talent.
She also checked out the famous landmarks while in Los Angeles, including a trip to Disneyland.
