Katy Perry and Russell Brand hooked up after the MTV Video Music Awards in New York, according to reports.

The pair were apparently spotted kissing each other at night club Avenue on Sunday night.

"They were sitting together, flirting and whispering to each other with their faces very close,” a source told the New York Post.

“Then Russell leaned in for a long kiss. It didn't look like this was the first time. He was looking extremely pleased with himself."

Brand, who hosted the ceremony, had reportedly earlier set his sights on Lady GaGa.

The British comedian and actor was comparing the VMAs for the second year running, despite proving a controversial choice.
