Taylor Lautner has said he hasn't been giving his Twilight co-star Robert Pattinson any advice about how to build muscle.

In the trailer to The Twilight Saga: New Moon, Pattinson's vampire character Edward Cullen can be seen sporting an impressive new six pack.

But Lautner, who also bulked up to play werewolf Jacob Black in the movie, said his co-star hadn't asked for his help.

Lautner told MTV: "No, he definitely doesn't need any pointers at all. He's got it covered."

When asked who would win in a “shirt-off”, Lautner replied: "I don't know [who would win]. Rob, he's getting some muscle. There's some good competition."

The 17-year-old actor also said he was enjoying filming the third Twilight film, Eclipse, which is in production in Vancouver.

Meanwhile, New Moon is due to be released in cinemas worldwide from November 20.
