George Clooney hasn't gotten where he is today without knowing how to made a grand entrance.

The actor and Italian girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis arrived at Lido and Cipriani's hotel in Venice via helicopter on Monday, before being whisked away by boat.

Georgie - whose poorly wrist is currently bandaged - is in the Italian city for the 66th Venice International Film Festival, where he is promoting new movie The Men Who Stare At Goats.

As well as being inspired by journalist Jon Ronson's book of the same name and co-staring Ewan McGregor anfd Jeff Bridges, the comedy marks George's first big-screen appearance with long hair and a bushy 'tache.
