Reality show Big Brother is to be scrapped after ten years, it's been reported.
The Channel 4 programme is to be taken off air following a slump in ratings, which has seen this year's edition attract just two millions viewers.
According to The Sun newspaper, an official announcement about the show's future will be made on Friday.
"The reality is people are bored with it,” a source said. “Even at Channel 4 the vibe among staff is that if you like Big Brother you're not cool.
It is thought the eleventh and final series will take place on Channel 4 next year because of the broadcaster's deal with creators Endemol.
A final edition of Celebrity Big Brother is also set to air in January, the newspaper reported.
Big Brother proved a ratings hit when it was launched in 2000, but more recent series have been hit by controversial outbursts from contestants.
