Peter Andre looks set to make inroads in estranged wife Katie Price's dominance of the book charts after signing a new publishing deal, it's been reported.

The singer is understood to have sealed a £1.5million deal to write a cookbook series inspired by his Australian and Greek heritage.

“It will start with barbecue food –  which all men will love – and ways to spruce up a juicy piece of meat,” a source told the Daily Mirror.

“Then it will have delicious  pastas and soups. Trust Pete to keep it authentic with some old Greek family recipes that his fans won’t be able to resist.

“He’s even considering having a wok section with oriental recipes inspired from his recent trip to Asia.”

Andre's estranged wife has achieved huge success in the book charts since the release of her first autobiography, Being Jordan, in 2004.

But the former glamour model's releases, which include new novel Sapphire, could face competition from Andre's venture.

The source added: “This will really drive Katie round the bend – Pete’s empire just keeps on growing.

“Kate prized herself on having best-selling books, it was one of the things that made her more of a housewife than a party girl.

“But now Pete is riding high and more and more success is coming his way since their split.”

Andre, who split from Price in May, is currently promoting his new album.
