Former Big Brother contestant Chanelle Hayes was hospitalised last night after taking a drink and drugs overdose, according to reports.

Hayes, 21, is alleged to have taken a combination of painkillers and red wine following a row with her footballer boyfriend Matt Bates.

She was rushed to Pinderfields Hospital near her home in Wakefield, according to The Sun newspaper.

A source said: “Chanelle had been having boyfriend troubles with Matt. They had been arguing a lot.

“She took the paracetamol and red wine out of frustration at how badly things were going. She was in a terrible way."

The newspaper claimed Hayes was expected to stay in Pinderfields overnight and that her Bates, 22, was by her bedside.

Her agent said: "I am looking in to this matter. I am unable to comment further at this stage."
