Selena Gomez has denied she's dating Twilight heartthrob Taylor Lautner.

The two 17-year-olds sparked rumours of romance in April after they were both pictured together on a dinner date in Vancouver.

But in an interview with Seventeen, Gomez insisted the pair were just friends.

“He’s a great guy. But I am 100 percent single, and I’m going to keep it that way for a while,” the Disney star said.

Gomez also revealed that the pair first met in Vancouver after Lautner's Twilight co-star Kristen Stewart introduced them to each other at a hotel all three were staying in.

“Kristen was staying in my hotel. [Taylor] would visit her, so we were constantly running into each other in the lobby - and we ended up meeting,” she said.

Gomez, who was shooting Ramona and Beezus in the city at the time, admitted that people's reaction to the pair's friendship was “a little crazy”.

“I went to Vancouver thinking I was going to focus on my work, but instead I got to meet him, and it ended up being the best thing ever,” she said.

“Taylor has made me so happy. I didn’t know I could be that happy.”
